…VISCISSITUDE…

Walking down the road, she could see her destination closer n closer with each step taken…She swelled in happiness, after all this is what she had wanted ever since she entered high school… Now, all her dreams and patience of waiting for 7 years would finally come to a reality…“Thank you, god!” she uttered..

Her legs ached, transmitting a message to her brain, begging her to stop. But she couldn’t do that. Not after all she had gone through. Just a few more steps and she would be there. She cajoled her legs, which had seemed to take a strong stand n refused to even budge a lil..

Gosh, come on guys, you can do this. As she stood there, persuading her body and legs to step forward, suddenly there was a bind of light.

Startled, she looked up to c what had caused such a blinding radiance.

OH NO!!! NOT THAT!!!

No no no.. this wasn’t happening to her.. not after the long road thaqt she had painstakingly taken. Please someone something just do anything, she cried helplessly but in vain. Her voice was drowned by that light which had now seemed to pick up the momentum, coming at her direct on with a loud piercing noise.

She knew that if she didn’t do something now, she would be drowned and pushed of course, back to the beginning of the road. She was not gonna give up without a fight. Why did she have to go through this, after all the sacrifices and rock bottom ends that she had painstakingly endured.

GO AWAY, BIG BAD MONSTER!!! This time I am not gonna give in without a fight, she yelled. Finally it was the time of showdown. She stood there, standing right at the monster, looking at him right in the eye.

WHY me? Don’t u have any other person to pick on???,” she asked. Despite the intrepid look that she had put on, she herself could sense fear creeping inside her.

The SOURCE of ALL looked down at her. “MONSTER??? YOU CALL ME A MONSTER???”, the booming voice of IT made her retreat a few steps, yet she held her poise.

Well, what else do you call someone who not only destroys one’s hopes and dreams, but also pushes the person back to the start of the journey??? Don’t tell me you expected a better name?”, she snorted, sarcasm starting to rear its head…

HAHAHA… Oh come on gal. After all the slacking and warily wasting time, even you cant deny that you were not expecting my arrival. So stop with the drama and be prepared for this time, the impact is even greater than you can imagine, darling…

“But.. but…”, she stammered. I know I had my shortcomings, but now, im a changed person. You know im working hard to improve things. So, what bout giving me another chance? Please even you know what is at stake here. All I ask is for a lil humanity from your part and I promise I won’t disappoint you.

“TOO LATE!!!” came the booming voice once again. So, just close your eyes and prepare for this journey. But remember, life doesn’t end hear. Just think that this road was never meant for you. And now, for the moment…

OH MY GOD!!! This wasn’t happening to her.. All she needed was one more chance. Just one tiny weeny lil chance and everything could be rectified. Please please pleaseeeee she wailed.. But….

The big black monster swept her off her feet, dragging her back to the start of the journey. All her tears and pleading fell on deaf ears.

When she opened her eyes, she found herself back from the point she started. She cried and cried cursing her fate and luck. But when all the sorrow came out and there were no more tears to shed, she started thinking over what the monster had told her. She looked around and saw that even though she was at the start of the road once again, her surroundings weren’t that bad.

Even more, she realized, just beside the road that she had traveled, there was another road. That was weird. Never did she see other roads the earlier time. Hmmm…

Well, the monster was right. The road she traveled wasn’t meant for her. And in the journey called LIFE, when one road closed, there is always another road to travel.

She got up, picked herself up and walked towards the other road. This time, she told herself, she would take it slow and steady. While she promised to work even harder to reach her destination-SUCCESS, she would not let other things influence her. After all, she was lucky to be given a second chance. Although the chance was not what she had imagined earlier, but making the most out of it would be the wisest thing to do. This VICISSITUDE had been an eye opener.

Off she went, down a new road of life, once again aiming for the destination known as SUCCESS and this time, strongly determined never to let the MONSTER LAZINESS or his twin brother LIL MONSTER SLACKER to even get anywhere near her…
